What to do when you mess up your new pedicure?

I should have worn my sneakers when working under my car. When I went to stand up I scraped my big toe on the pavement and scratched up the finish. I tried fixing it by putting some clear over it. That worked until I noticed this morning that it now has the pattern of the stitching from the sheets(I guess it wasn't totally dry). I know I should just take it off that toe and start over. However, it may look worse than it does now. One day maybe, I may be able to apply nail polish and have it look as good as my nail techs application. I could never wear polish on my nails and have it last more than a few hours. It amazes me how women are able to do things with out ruining their manicures.  I wonder how long it must take to retrain your brain not do things in a way the will mess it up.
