Unexpected color choice, BB Couture Mariner

Not the color I had intended to get, but I do really like it. I've had it for a couple of months and never got around to trying it. Now that I have this color on my nails, it doesn't seem right that my toes are "Teal the Cows Come Home" with silver shatter over top. It makes it hard to figure out what to wear. Maybe I'm just being anal worrying about how they look together. I could just wear sneakers. However, the sun is coming out and the ocean is calling me for a swim. Wish me luck; this is the first time out in public with both my toes and nails painted.

The only comment I got today was, "Were you bored?" from the girl at the 7-11 that I see all the time. I'm seriously considering leaving it on to go to work on Tuesday.  There are no rules about women or men wearing polish. I'm tired of coming up with excuses, I'm just going to say because I like it. I'll let you know if I chicken out.

  1. That's a really cool color on you, but I still can't bring myself to wear colored fingers in public.

Oh yeah, in case anyone is interested I am having a polish giveaway

  3. I was a bit uncomfortable at church today. No one said anything but, I didn't go out of my way to make sure they were seen. Still have that feeling of doing something forbidden. I have a divorce hearing on Tuesday, so I only get to enjoy the color for one more day.

Thanks for entering me in your giveaway.

  4. Church is a different paradigm. We need to assess the reasons we attend. If it is just for social reasons then the polish shouldn't matter, and there shouldn't be any problem drawing that kind of attention. However, if we attend in order to worship and give God our full attention, and expect that others are there for the same reason, we should not be drawing undue attention to ourselves. As a deacon at my church I am keenly aware of this, and even though some folks there know that I paint my toenails, I always wear shoes to Sunday services. Now Wednesday night choir practice is a different story, then I feel more relaxed, and often attend barefoot. Besides, it often lightens the atmosphere and helps others to relax too, and we tend to sing better when we are relaxed.

  5. I have been attending church long before I started wearing polish. It is in the fellowship hall afterwards where we gather and eat breakfast and socialize. It is there that I wasn't fully comfortable wearing polish on my fingers. As i mentioned before, it seems that most people don't look at your feet and it has never been an issue. Openly wearing polish on my fingers is new. I do it for me not to shock anyone. I simply just like the way it looks.

  6. I love this color! I think it looks really nice on you. And I hope everything goes smoothly if you do decide to go to church/work wearing polish on your fingers-- hopefully no one is too rude about it!
