Polish demolish!

My mani after working on the car.
The polish didn't survive but my nails did. It would seem that brake fluid takes off nail polish. This once again proves you can still do typical guy stuff and still enjoy polish and having nails. After I washed my hands I still had some grease in the creases and cracks of my hands, so I decided to wear Manglaze Matte is Murder. I thought the graphite grayish Black looked ok with less than perfectly clean hands.

Manglaze Matte is Murder

I had enough sense to wear sneakers when working on the car. I really like this color on my toes and didn't want it ruined.

My new pedi from my Friday night pedicure.

  1. There's something so manly about grease and black nails LOL! I love that color on our toes too so I'm glad you didn't ruin them!

    1. Since I couldn't get my hands clean, Matte black seemed the way to go. I'd wear it more but they frown on black at work.

  2. Excellent polish choice--I had no idea that nail polish and auto repair could go so well together! Love the pedicure as well. That's such a great shade of blue, and the flowers look awesome!

    1. Thanks Elizabeth, I really am trying to make a point to some people that just because a guy likes polish, it doesn't mean we suddenly can't or don't want to do the stuff guys usually do. They don't need to be mutually exclusive.

  4. I guess you can't wear gloves while working on the car, huh? Besides popping the hood and pulling out the little dipstick to check my oil, I have never done any car engine maintenance. But I wear gloves to protect my manis so I just wondered. I have on Zoya Robyn and it looks like the same color as you have on your toes. I even held my hand up to the screen to see and yep, we match! Pretty color and very spring like.

  5. Good color choice! I tend to wear greens & browns more when doing mega gardening so the dirt that just won't wash off isn't so obvious. LOL

  6. Hi ,
I'm an italian journalist. I was wondering if there's a chance to have your e-mail in order to make you a few questions.

  7. As someone constantly struggling between obnoxious tomboy that works on her RV, and quiet diva doing her nails, may i suggest the following for your guy-hand dilemma?

When i get grease, grime, auto/home/jewelry dust in my nails/cuticles, I'll use "orange gunk" on my hands. I lay it on my hands almost like a cuticle treatment for a couple minutes and then use an orange stick to work the edgse of my cuticles and sides of my nails so the grease/brake dust/whatever comes out. You can actually massage gunk into your fingers like that, it's got an unheard of balance of moisturizing and exfoliation!

I'm not sure if they still call it "orange gunk" at the auto parts stores, but I know one brand of it is "summit racing" hand cleaner!
