Funny polish encounter at 7-11

I had to work today and as always, I  stoped at 7-11 for a diet coke and a snack. When I was in line this guy says "love your toes" and proceeds to call his girlfriend over to look. Next thing I know he is taking off his shoe to show me his golden polished toes. The guy behind the counter is now leaning over to see. All in all, it was a fun experience. I will really miss my zebra stripes when they go away on Friday. It seems like people like the color and design so much they overlook that I am sporting it.

  1. Sounds like a cool interaction.

I have yet to have anyone comment to me on my toes in public.

  2. They were a young twenty something couple. It was the first time total strangers commented on my toes. The fingers drew a comment the first time I wore them out. I am taking my aunt for a manicure later. I don't know if I can resist not getting one. I just love the smell of polish and seeing all the pretty nails.

  3. Maybe you should try a men's french manicure... I think an "American manicure" is probably something they will have experience with.

  4. As soon as I order the "mens French" polish from OverallBeauty.com I will try it. This Friday is OPI - Yodel me on my cell. What is an "American manicure"?

  5. What a fun way to start your day, especially since other people there got to see two guys at the same shop, obviously strangers, that both had polished toes. Things like that are what help get rid of stigma.

And get the manicure; you'll feel wonderful afterward, trust me. :)

  6. An american manicure is like a french manicure but is made to look much more natural. I linked to an article above above, but it's hard to see links. Here it is in text:

  8. Bobbi, I hope more guys start showing their toes proudly. Wheather I just started soaking my fingers in olive oil to take care of my nasty dry cuticles. I also enjoy practicing apply polish to my fingers; this way when I do my toes my self they don't look bad. I can't stand to look at sloppy paint jobs.
