My blog is journal of my adventures in openly wearing polish and how friends, family and strangers react. Photos of the colors I have tried are included with my posts.

Life begins when you step out of your comfort zone. ~ Randi Mount.
A Facebook friend posted this quote today and It really made me think. That quote relates to my interest in polish. Starting to wear polish definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone. It was the same when I first started wearing an earring back in the 80's or when I pierced my other ear in the early 90's. Now I rarely ever wear an earring. I have also changed careers 3 times, all of them technical but totally different industries (Industrial, Banking, and Healthcare). I have also lived in five different states (New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire, Michigan, and Hawaii). All these changes invigorated me. I've noticed that most of the polish bloggers are really open to guys and polish. I think that someone interested enough to have a blog, wants to share their interest with others, regardless of their gender. Thank you fellow bloggers for being kind and supportive. You are helping to make this an enjoyable journey.

I LOVE that you wear polish, and am happy to follow your journey :) if it helps I know a well know MMA fighter has just opened a gym, and the fighters have had a contest for best painted toe nails for some free gym sessions. It was all done in fun, but no ones going to tell them they're girly are they?! :D Keep painting your nails Jim, I enjoy seeing it very much <3
ReplyDeleteJim, thank you for sharing your journey with us! I enjoy your pictures, attitude and writing style. :-) Your zebra pedi was awesome!
ReplyDeleteI agree that polish is for anyone who wants it. My husband paints his toes (no manicures though he said it would be too much upkeep). We live in California, and he wears sandals all over the place. I can't remember any negative reactions. As he says, "naked toes are boring."
Keep up the good work! :-D
Thank you BlingerNails and Playing with Polish. I have seen a number off MMA fighters on TV with their toes painted. I always keep that in mind if I get into a discussion with someone who questions guys wearing polish. PwP, I agree with your husband, it is too much upkeep to paint them on a consistent basis. I just do it on the weekend if I am in the mood. The world is a mine field for nails. I keep finding new ways to screw them up. The last was closing my finger in the garage door as I was pulling it down. The funny part was I was more pissed that it totaled the polish than it hurt like hell!
ReplyDeleteJim - I was one of your first followers (literally, I think I was like #2 or #3!) and I've enjoyed reading your posts and hearing about what's going on in your life. It's been a fun journey! Congrats on your progress and success!

Paws to Polish
Thanks Katie for being there for me from the beginning. I am happier now than I have been in a long time. I am even losing weight. Polish has given me an outlet to express my individuality.
ReplyDeletei think you are inspiring a lot of men. whenever i meet a guy who likes polish i always tell them about u and this blog. <3
ReplyDeleteI hope I can get more guys to wear their polish openly. The blog has helped me make contact with so many great people. I hope it can help others as much as it helps me.
