Today I treated myself to an unscheduled pedicure of China Glaze Emerald Sparkle. The trial was shorter than expected. I got full legal and physical custody of my daughter. I had a couple of hours to kill and decided to celebrate with a relaxing pedicure. The fun part was going to a different salon where they don't know me. I walked in and was greeted with "how can I help you" and I replied "I would like a pedicure". I walked directly over to the rack of polishes and started looking. She asked "you want color?" and I replied "Yes"; that is when the heads turned towards me. After that it was pretty much the same as always. Six months ago I would have been afraid to stand at the polish racks. She did ask me if I ever get manicures and asked if I like my nails long. I use my hands way to much at work to ever have long fingernails. If I did, I would probable put my eye out by accident.  The only thing that makes me want them a little longer is so I don't paint the end of my fingers when I do wear polish on a weekend. It is so much easier to paint nails that extend to or beyond the end of your finger. Only my pinky and ring finger ever survive long enough to have to clip. I thought short nails would be less likely to chip since the ends are not hitting stuff all the time; my hypothisis seems to be wrong. I think since it is nearly impossible to paint the free edge, they chip faster.  When they do a good job of painting the free edge during pedicures, I always make it two weeks without any chipping. The growth is the only sign that it has been a couple of weeks.

My problem is that my normal pedicure appointment is on Friday, Should I cancel or go as normal. My wallet says no but my feet say go anyway. Well, it was my birthday two days ago. Happy birthday to me!
