BB Couture - Rustler

I know, I need more practice!

I wanted to show how different this polish looks in the bottle compared to on my nails. I hate it in the bottle and love it on my nails. It is my favorite creme color. I wanted to wear it with my beige scrub bottoms and my brown polo shirt to work tomorrow. I've only worn polish to work on Halloween or on weekends when no one was around. I figured tomorrow is as good a day as any to jump in. I am waiting to see if they have an issue with it. There is actually a policy on polish and artificial nails. Direct patient care staff should not have artificial nails (infection control issue). Also they state polish should be light in color and not chipped. I am sure they never intended this for their male staff. Another younger tech showed up wearing neon orange polish one day. He blamed it on his sister and her friend.(Yea right). If things go well, I will be able to wear polish when ever the mood strikes me.

This BB Couture polish is typical of most of their polishes I own. Two coats would be enough to cover completely, if your not still learning like me. I had to apply a third coat to a couple of nails to even out my mistakes. I applied Seche Ultra-V top coat. It goes on so easy and is self leveling and takes 3 minutes under their little hand held light.

I'll fill you all in on how it went!

  1. This looks great! Good for you for going to work with it, good luck. If your policy is light in color and not chipped, your not breaking any rules :)

  2. Is the Ulktra-V helping the chips Jim? I'm trying Orly Nail Defense as a base coat, and it's really helping my peelies x

    1. As far as chips go, keeping my nails real short helps. It is always on the peely fingers where the nail is thin that it chips. The nail envey is really helping. I am half way through the bottle and it is getting thick! Same thing happend with Seche Vite. I like ultra-v because it is thin and goes on real easy. It is also very durable. Btw, I think.the peelies will have grown out in the next couple of weeks. Only two fingers still messed up.

    1. It last as long or longer than Seche Vite. I love it. It also doesnt get thick in the bottle.

  5. UPDATE: I did wear it to work and it was totally anti-climatic. Only one person actually said "You wearing polish", to which I replied "yes, I feel like being different today". That was the end of the conversation. I didn't walk around flaunting my nails, I just went about business as usual; that is was my goal. Even better, I made it through the day with out screwing my nails up.
