My first taste of Neon

Daytime and overcast
Dark with black light

I hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start. Earlier this week I was at a loss on what I wanted to do with my toes at my pedicure. I have some untried, but they are not colors for my toes. Later that day, Laurie from Dressed Up Digits asked me what I had planned. I told her I was going to put one of my favorites in my pocket as a backup and see what they had at the salon. I have never tried a neon color on my toes before. She thought that would be a good idea. What I would have loved was the amazing gradient blue that Laurie had on her nails. However, I know that is not an option at the salon I go to. It would be too hard to do something like that on your own feet, unless you have the flexibility of a gymnast. I can assure you that is not me. I have the flexibility of a telephone pole! If you read my last post, you know I did not enjoy my previous pedicure with miss I want to get out of here as fast as possible. Happily to say, Yesterday was the total opposite. I enjoyed every minute. I was able to soak my feet for about ten minutes before she started. I got a nail tech that has done a good job in the past. She took her time and did everything I expect when plunking down hard earned money. I melted in the seat during the leg massage. She didn't blink an eye when I handed her the China Glaze neon orange ( I forgot to look at the name of the polish). I told her I wanted black zebra stripes and she thought the additional black with the rhinestones would look nice. It came out very pretty. The down side was that with the added black accent and rhinestones it no longer looked like the Cincinnati Bengals football helmets. Truth be told, I am beyond worrying about what polish/design looks too feminine. If I like it, that is all that counts.

Everyone have a great weekend!

    1. Must be considering you like darker colors. In two weeks I'll have to go the other way with something dark and interesting. maybe I can use my Just spotted the lizard with some sort of black accent.

    1. Thank you! Amazingly the number of guys with nail blogs has increased. More guys are finding out how much fun it can be to express yourself with polish. There are so many groups on flicker for guys and nail polish. Most are for guys who wear polish on their toes and a few for those of us who wear polish on our nails too. I only polish my nails when the spirit moves me. My toes are always polished and open for the world to see.

    1. Thank you! I like the combination, but ever since someone said that would be good around Halloween, I can't look at them without thinking I'm 5 months early with this pedi! I thought about the Neon pink, but my daughter would have said it was to girly a color. I really like how red looks on my skin tone, but last time I wore red, my daughter said she already has been asked by her friend mom if I was gay. She doesn't like having to explain that I'm not and that I just like polish.

  5. A lady at church came up to me and said "nice toes". She made my day. I am always amazed how few people notice or say anything.

  8. It took to many years to decide to do what I like instead of trying to fit the mold. I am happier now. Polish brightens my world!
