OPI - My Private Jet (again)

I finally got a nice sunny day to bring out the awesomeness of this polish. I know this color has been blogged to death. I just think it is a great color for guys. It is a dark gray with the addition of the holo glitter. From any distance it just looks gray. I think it is good for a guy who doesn't want to wear black but wants to wear polish. It doesn't make people think your trying to look goth or like a rocker. I'll see if anyone says anything when we go shopping tomorrow. So far the only comments I have received have been positive.

  1. I used seche vite top coat and the tips still are chipped up in less than 24 hours. Very frustrating.

  2. Wow. I almost NEVER get chips. Did you use base coat? How many coats of mpj are on nail? If more than one how long between coats? Did you wrap the edge? (Go along top of nail to seal edges in)

  3. Yes I used a base coat. I used Nailtiques formula 1. Then I applied two coats of MPJ, followed by 1 coat of Seche Vite. I have trouble with doing a good job on the free edge since my nails are so short. I end up with massive amounts of polish on the skin. Then the clean up is aweful. I probable end up removing some polish from the edge when I try and get the polish off my skin. Sometimes I wish my nails were long enough not to have that problem.

  4. My husband loves this color too! In fact every time I bring home a new holo polish he compares it to MPJ! :-)

I'm sorry about the chips. I imagine it is a different game working with very short nails.

  5. I thought having short nail would make it easier to keep them from chipping. Since they don't extend beyond my finger, I thought they would be out of harms way. I have Lizard Belly (Holo) by Glitter Gal on order and can't wait to try it. Kim from Overall Beauty has converted me to a fan of greens. I still have more awesome blues than greens.
