My blog is journal of my adventures in openly wearing polish and how friends, family and strangers react. Photos of the colors I have tried are included with my posts.

OPI Skull & Glossbones done by myself
OK, as mentioned before, I still need some practice. After looking at the picture, I realized there is a lot of clean up that needed doing. Also the acetone dried out my skin and cuticles. Now that I look closely, my feet are dirty from weed wacking the front yard (that isn't athletes foot on my big toe!). I tried to do light coats and let it dry in between. However, after three coats, I still see brush lines. Maybe I apply too much pressure? I think this color would look good with some black nail design. I can't wait for my pedi on Friday; not sure what color to try. I have some BB Couture polishes I haven't tried yet and OPI "Yodel me on my cell".

Jim, My favorite way to get rid of brush lines is to apply a coat of Seche Vite topcoat while the polish is still wet (usually after the final coat). It causes the polish to flow and smooth out. It leaves a really glossy shine and dries fast too. It's the closest thing to nail polish magic you are gonna find.
ReplyDeleteGreat suggestion. That must be why as soon as she finishes the polish on one foot she is applying the top coat. I waited for it to dry before applying top coat. I was afraid I would mess up the color. I still have to do my other foot. I'll try you suggestion on my right foot! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBe sure to use the "Seche Vite", Nothing else I've found work like that. After it dries you can put a matte topcoat over it if you want.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to see if they have it here. If not, I'll order it from the same place you found the Essie polish for me. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGood job! I really love the color. That whole collection is something special.
ReplyDeleteIt hasn't grown on me yet. I want to put black shatter over it.
