Ouch! my peeling finger nails are making me mad.

My index finger nails are peeling so bad it hurts. I've been using OPI Nail Envy for soft and peeling nail for a couple of weeks. Now the nail just peels along with the Nail Envy. How can I get them to grow out enough that they aren't down to the quick? Anyone have a suggestion?

  1. Ouch! I had this problem all summer long, and I found a Sally Hansen treatment it was in an aqua bottle. If I find it I will let you know the name - I don't know if it's discontinued but it REALLY worked on my peelies!

  2. I've finally gotten my nails to peel less by moisturizing my hands/cuticles frequently, daily at minimum. Nails peel when they're dry. Do you wash your hands often for work? That might be part of the cause.

  3. I work in a dialysis facility and wash my hands a couple of dozen times a day. The odd thing is that I have been working there for almost five years and this is the first time I have had this problem.

  4. Moisturize! Lush Lemony Flutter, Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Balm, CND Solar Oil are my favorites... also, Sally Hansen Nail Quencher is great (only found on ebay nowadays but same price as retail I believe.).. also Nailtiques Formula 2 :)

  5. Try using tea tree oil or rose hip oil. Massage into fingernails and cuticles and it will help from nails splitting and cracking. If you are using acetone nail polish remover switch to non-acetone. Acetone is very drying to your cuticles and hands.

  6. I think your right. I use the 100% acetone because it removes the polish easy. I'll have to pick up the non acetone type. Thanks for the suggestion.
